GETTING A DIVORCE, OR CHILD SUPPORT IN MINNESOTA
Divorce is a province of state law, so we do divorces in Minnesota only. If you live in Wisconsin or Iowa we can recommend good people for you there. The state where you live is the state where you get a divorce.
If parents are in different states, depending on how long one has lived there, the divorce can happen in either state. Generally you will file a divorce in the state where you or your spouse lives. You file actions for child support in the state where there is a divorce or separation order, or where your child has lived for at least six months.
